Found this out today. I think my bargain Oakley photochromics will have to go back, unless any of you good people can recommend an alternative.

I went for the Rudy Project RX
The advantage of these clip in styles is that you can still change lenses to suit visibilty and lighting, making them more versatile

Equally you can change the prescription of the inserts without changing the glasses

Finally if your outer lens gets scratched or damaged by debris it is cheaper to replce than a prescription lens

Overall I find this cheaper in the long run and extends usability. Wearing yellow lenses at night, red in cloudy days and black in bright sunlight is what I wanted to do

Some people find the dual lens steams up, but I have not really had a problem with that

Following that logic then surely photochromic is the way to go. I think possibly rydon with inserts if they do them could be an alternative .
What do you think? ???

Another vote for Optilabs, I'm still using a pair of photochromics I got from them most of ten years ago. Only wish I'd got a 'regular' tinted lens so I could wear them off the bike..

I found some Oakley Flak Jacket XLJ's online for $67 delivered, they are red frames but I can live with that. I took them to my optician to see about getting lens for them. I decided to go with just single vision. My everyday glasses are photochromic progressive lens and they get a little pricey. My optician said he will just tint them when they come in and I am there to tell him how much tint I want. It will be very light because I will more than likely be using them at night too. My optician just gave me a ball park price but I will have a pair of prescription Oakleys for just under 200 dollars. He is a longtime friend so I am not worried about him trying to jack up the price when I go to pick them up.

I have been riding with nonprescription riding glasses for a while and I am sure the prescription glasses will make riding much nicer. If I like them and decide I need them darker I feel like at these prices I can maybe get a second set of lens and go darker with the tint. I just checked the site I got my Oakleys from and they are back up to 89 dollars. I just got them a few of days ago, they should be back to me with the new lens in a few days, my optician sent them off for the new lens the day after I received them in the mail. I haven't tried them yet but I am sort of excited about getting them.
