The Eastway steel bikes are pretty too I think

http://www.eastwaybikes.com/product/eastway-st1-0-steel-road-bike/

or the alloy http://www.eastwaybikes.com/product/eastway-r3-0-alloy-road-bike/

I also like the Scott Contessa when not black

And of course, there are the Condor steelies in a range of colours

e.g, http://www.condorcycles.com/Condor-Bikes/9451-Condor-Acciaio-Frameset/flypage.tpl.html

Whyte bikes are subtle but mostly grey in road variety

What's your max budget? Builds get expensive quickly
Good suggestions! I guess I'm going to have to give up on the disc brake thing eh. Max budget is 2k at a push. Won't buy till the end of summer though, got a big expensive holiday to pay for first..

Agreed. And why are so many bikes black/grey

its always black or grey with you

strangely I have just been perusing the Genesis site and like the cream equilibrium but preferred the red. I think the steel bikes look a little more retro due to the tubes not being aero/oversized and so makes for a more classic look.

I have the burnt copper equilibrium for the record!

Black cars are OK if you have a person to clean them for you each time you drive it.

You could always buy the bike you like then have it painted the way you like, that would give you more choices. I must admit over the years I have had many frames made by hand only to get fed up with my chosen colours not long after.

Have a look at the Gallery on the WM site, some of the bikes are quite nice. The homepage is a bit in your face but the bikes in the gallery - some of them - look quite nice.
