Woke up yesterday. Despite the interupted sleep I felt smug. Fuel tanker driver problems again on the horizon, drivers ready to start panic buying fuel, government ministers making the situation worse, people worrying about getting into work, visiting family, fulfilling commitments, etc.

And there is me, ready to get on my bike again, with a car half full of fuel, and which will remain so for another month or more. Never going to be a problem for me.

Until, 1/3 of the way into work, when a gear change went horribly wrong, the derailleur got caught in the wheel, spoke broke, derailleur broke, and I was left with no option other than to push the bike home, and drive in instead. As I have had to do today too. On some of the best cycling days of the year.

Fortunately I can get it repaired this weekend, so should be back on my bike on Monday. But still fed up.

Bad luck mate, what a time for that to happen. At least you haven't got to wait too long to get back in the saddle. Everywhere round here is running out of fuel, everyone's going mad causing a shortage!
