I am watching BBC4 ProgRock night...what a lot of pretentious cock!! ut within this was some good stuff...probably by accident.

If it were a Top Trump fight for best prog drummer it would be a 3 way tie between Carl Palmer, Bill Bruford and Neil Peart.

I do like some of the more modern prog too - The Mars Volta (Frances The Mute is just unspeakably good), Porcupine Tree and Steven Wilson in his many guises, The Pineapple Thief, Anathema, RPWL, Opeth's Damnation.

Love the older stuff, especially early Genesis, Floyd, Yes, Tangerine Dream (ok not really prog), Caravan, Rush.

As far as keyboard players go, how does stabbing them with knives (Keith Emerson, I'm looking at you) compare with the Rick Wakeman 'Why have one keyboard when you can have 15?' approach?
