It has got to that point in time that my trusty first ever road bike needs an overhaul.
Having bought it second hand over 5 years ago and still running all its orginal 8 speed non named Shimano groupset minus a couple of new chains and rear cassette, and having ridden it over 5 winters it was looking tired.
The decision was made to retire her and use her as a dedicated turbo trainer bike now I have a Wahoo Kickr Core sat in the pain cave.
So the plan is;
Switch from 8 speed to 11.
Switch the 42cm bars for 44 to replicate my current bike.
Switch to a compact chainset.
Respray the bike.
All will be done on the cheaper end of the scale.
So far I have purchased a Sensah Empire groupset 11 speed. Going to switch the front derailleur with a 105 one which is sat ready to be installed. I have also picked up a pair a FSA Omega compact cranks, need to switch the old square taper bb to a bb30 but struggling to find a threaded version.
Possible colourscheme???
