Proper starter - 60+ W Yorks

Welcome - hope you are enjoying the new bike. Can relate to both your areas of concern as I was in the same position 5 years ago when I had just turned 50. Getting your bike is a great move. Live just around the corner from Brighouse so know the hill up to fixby well!

.....I regularly ride with a guy in his mid 70's and he's quicker/stronger than many who are decades younger!

Just take it easy and make gradual progress and enjoy!
