Not sure the curved front will be adoped because theres a limit allowed length of lorrys, hence why they are box design to allow biggest payload, cab space etc. But loads more windows should of been a requirement long ago. There should be no such thing as a blind spot.
Now if only the same approach could be used on cars. Have any of you noticed that cars seem to have increased their blind spots over the last several decades? Some more revealing glass would be nice, not just to decrease blind spots, but also to reveal idiots using their phones while driving

Yes, I do realise that this new design is a ginormous container hauling cab not a small lorry.
My new car has a 270 degree camera system (the 90 degrees straight in front isn't covered). Even though the car is huge & has some nasty blind spots you can easily spot pedestrians, small children & pets in tight spaces. I've set it up so that the surround display is on by default. I'd be absolutely astounded if no one has developed a similar system for large vehicles. It should also be a doddle to retrofit to vehicles because it would literally be 4 tiny cameras.There is plenty of devices around at the moment to help this situation and some companies are using them. But the government needs to step in and make all lorries have these devices retro fitted.

I never undertake lorries. Do they wait behind me if they want to turn left? Do they b'locks.There is plenty of devices around at the moment to help this situation and some companies are using them. But the government needs to step in and make all lorries have these devices retro fitted.
As cyclists we also have a big responsibility to keep ourselves safe. We know where the problems arise and we should not rely on laws or other people to protect us from them.
There won't, of course (as in "It's an unfortunate fact that with progress there are casualties™") so we need to up the costs and consequences, and remove the commercial benefits, of killing people.There has to come a time when commercial enterprises accept that company profits do not trump people's lives.
And it can't come soon enough...
