Ice axe...
Large kitchen knife...
To far with knife. People appear to be unable to grasp the concept of you being in fear of a threat on your life and attack on your property. One you can get away with anything the other Will get you 10 years.

But my point is that we can all legitimately have a large knife in the house. I can also justify having an ice axe, but could not justify having a baseball bat.

If you are handy with some basic electronics and computer programming, you could knock up a motion detection CCTV camera that uses infrared which you can then strategically place so that you can get pictures of burglars which you can then pass on to plod. If they are repeat offenders, then they are probably known to them, so a picture of them doing something they shouldn't should be enough for them to pay them a visit.

Just had a call from crime prevention. Free UV pen to write post code on bike and info on other options. I noticed that the hinges were on the outside of the garage!!
Police officer didn't think I should worry as there was a lot of screws which could not be removed without a drill 14 to be exact to remove one door and you would need a step ladder. Although if they did they could lift the door of the hinges but would have take both doors off if the lock was still on. Doors are very heavy though. So they would go for lock.

So you aren't interested in beefing up the general security, like has been suggested. A couple of extra locks would deter theives !
At what point did I say that? I would prefer if you did not make things up.
I intend on putting on a better hasp, a better lock possibly an alarmed lock. Obviously marking etc my bikes. Most important a movement censor which will set of an alarm in the garage and in my house note alarm not a beeper in the house. As I agree that it is highly unlikely that I will hear beeping noise.
