Media sharing needs to to be set up on a PC - Windows Media 11 does it for free

Ahh. Evil media player is not used here. Might have a look and see what else it does. I've never really explored it.

I use PS3 Media Server - Windows wouldn't play nice !
Yeah you just literally search on the PS3 and it picks up all the files on your PC.
Then just copy them over or stream. Or connect a Ext Hard Drive and transfer all your media like this.
£40 will get you a 320gb HD and £5 will get you a caddy to use the PS3 80gb Hard Drive as an External one.

We have an SD HD Camcorder and I have just transferred all the footage onto the PS3

can this be done via a wireless network if both devices are connected to the same wifi router?

Better still, does it have RJ45 ethernet interface on the back?

TBH I think the Blu Ray thing will be more useful when I upgrade my nasty TV  but thx anyway guys.

Maybe I'll do some research first then make the call.

I know naff all about this but can tell you that our games room consisted of cable tv, Nintendo Wii and PS2. The big new purchase, chosen entirely by them last week, was the Xbox 360, they could have had that or the PS3.

Don't know if that helps at all, or is too far past the witching hour:biggrin:

Spoke to a mate of mine last night who's a PS3 owner and he says it's fantastic... Also siad he plays GTA IV and no mention of choppy FPS. I am going to go for the PS3 if anything but it all depends upon me finding a flat mate within the next 2 weeks first

OT but I've just been given an original XBOX to see if I like it before splashing out on a PS3 or 360.

Whenever I put a disk in it just spins for a few secs and then ejects itself. Am I doing something wrong? The only thing that comes on screen is the XBOX menu.

I want to see what all the fuss behind Halo 2 is? (and yes I know I'm 8 years behind the times!!!!!):blush::rolleyes::blush::blush:

Could be many things. Any thumping of the disc?

You can play on XBOX games on the 360, Burnout 2 . They look a lot better on the 360 than the original. Unfortunately it's not too like the 360 experience as so much of that is achievements/arcade games etc. Well some of it, depends what you like I guess.
