After a rapid first hour and a huge battle to make today's break, Luke Plapp took a first Grand Tour stage win.
Meanwhile, Ulissi takes a Maglia Rosa for Italy. A few of today's PTP-selected riders battled to be protagonists but mididoctors was the only points scorer courtesy of Vendrame.
Therefore, little change to the PTP GC which continues to be led by PurplePenguin, as you can see here:

Tomorrow's stage is one of the stand-out stages of the race, 181km from Gubbio with 29km of Stade Bianche-style gravel roads before the finish in the Piazza del Campo in Siena. With Pog not racing, it should be an exciting day of racing.
