My favourite "slightly tipsy" ride was in Ilfracombe in Devon. From the old town railway station, the trackbed - now a cycleway - is a 1 in 36 upward slope for several miles - one of the steepest in the country for a train, but very easy for a bike. At the end of the cycleway is a pub. Three or so pints later of a sunny summer afternoon, the return journey was a gentle downhill car(e)-free pootle all the way...

Bike was fine, I used my elbow and shoulder as a crash mat
