Pubs that do camping?

Closer to London is the Star Inn in Steeple Essex. I only used it when I knew the Landlord ( I used to sail with him at the Marconi sailing club) he sold it on so don't know what it is like now. When my friend owned it he used have lots of live music etc on, also food was good. The Local TT starts from there so should be cyclist friendly.

The Rose and Crown in Ridgmont, Beds does camping - no personal experience here but not far from where I live. Found it on Archies will have to try it out!
Pub camping seems like a great idea as invariably the first thing I do once set up camp is find the nearest local for some pub grub and beer!

We (a group of older lads) stayed there on one of our annual leave the ladies at home weekends- nice beer from memory, nice but very basic facilities

A now deceased pub in Kent....

Cycle touring and about lunchtime on a miserable wet day found a pub with log fire, real ale and food

Ordered lunch and chatting to the land lady

She asked where I was heading and I explained that I had no definite plans

Her reply was .... stick your tent in the beer garden

Some offers you cannot refuse

Especially as they also tumble dried my wet gear during supper

Bad news is that after being locked in for the afternoon and a lengthy evening session, the following day was also short!

There's the Hampshire Bowman near Bishops Waltham and the Flowerpots at Cheriton, both of which have micro-breweries on site, there's also the Travellers Rest near Soberton.
We stayed at a nice pup campsite on the canal near Pewsey once but I can't remember what it was called.

The New Delight Inn on one of the hills above Hebden Bridge, a convenient ride from Clitheroe and the Wetherspoons in Todmorden! :okay:

The little campsite is adjacent to it and I think the same people run it - Hebden Bridge Camping.

Yup, stayed there twice: first time, cycle touring in 2011; second time, walking the Pennine Way in 2015. Basic facilities but OK.

Tan Hill for the full eccentric experience.
Also on my Pennine Way trek in 2015. Just pitch up out the back of the pub and pop a donation in the jar on the bar.

Get the feeling that there isn't a massive amount of cycle tourers/campers on here, but methinks an interesting tour could be constructed from these, and possibly more to come,

I was turned on to the wonderful combination of camping and pubs many years ago by one which gave you a view of the severn (old) bridge. No idea if it still exists.

Can anyone give me an idea of which one it might have been?

I did plan to visit one kent sort of way a few years ago - free apparently if you drank/ate in the pub. Though when i asked about shower facilities the woman on the phone suggested rubbing myself down with wet wipes.

Hulme end campsite - behind the Manifold Inn, top of the manifold trail http://www.hulme-end-campsite.co.uk/

Nice loc, nice owners, great pub....however, the campsite is cut in half by a busy (B) road and you have to cross and walk 100m along it every time you need the loo/showers/washing facilities. Prolly not much to bother a tourer spending a night there, but we spent 3 days car camping and it'd started to drive us nuts pretty sharpish.
