Pump mounts.

I have just bought a lovely 16" long shiny chromed steel pump for my road bike. I will be using the plastic Zefal type pump mounts when I can decide whether to mount the pump on, or should that be under, the top tube or on the seat post. What do people think looks better, top tube or seat tube. I am not really into aesthetics, more into function so I need advice

Something I hadn't allowed for was the cable holes in the top tube (Peugeot frame). I cannot centre the size pump I bought so I have mounted it on the seat tube.
