Panter said:I wish I was as good a person as some on here but I'm not. I guess chap is correct, I am a product of my upbringing and social class and I'm sorry to have soiled your World with my drivel (although I was at least taught to read correctly, it was the boot I hit and not the bonnet.)
Just turn this one around a bit. Let's say that Panter did manage to dent the guy's car. At a rough guess it's going to take a couple of hundred quid to sort out.ShinSplint said:St Huck,
Please.. get a grip. The tw@t in the beemer needs to be told. Maybe the fact that Panter acted in such a way, made him realise the potential consequences if he was to try it again.
If people choose to ignore behaviour like that, it will continue to happen. Simples.
Panter said:Thanks all, I wished I hadn't done it afterwards.
Trouble is, assault on the family, heat of the moment and all that.
I really must learn to calm down....
But Panter didn't do it to protect his family did he? He did it after the incident, in order to exact revenge or punish him. It's a f*cking good job there weren't any police around, because "The car scared me and my family " explanation will mitigate, but will not defend his actions.skudupnorth said:You will do anything to protect your family,i would.Just a shame there were no Police or cctv watching the cock !

Now, you scare me in your car and I decide to act out my revenge by burgling your house. I'll nick your TV so you are a couple of hundred quid down on the deal. No amount of "But my family was nearly injured by his driving" would justify my actions now would it?

If it troubles you, then change the parallel to "lifting your wallet with £200 quid in it. "rusky said:You've never had your house burgled have you? It's not even close to a parallel.
I despair along with you rusky. But there is a general and creeping degeneration of all that is decent that surrounds all of us. No one likes to be challenged, every slight must be met with violence. Even on this hallowed and generally good-tempered forum we see people desperately trying to educate others.rusky said:I agree that Panter's reaction was wrong but if nothing's done what stops the moton repeating his actions? It only takes an outside influence or bad judgement & he will hit someone.
If Panter had reported it to the police, it wouldn't go anywhere & that's the main problem. People act lie twats because they know they will get away with it.
People get fed up with the law not working so more & more people feel that the only action is reaction.
Panter said:Just to make it clear, I did NOT hit the car in revenge, I Hit it because I wanted him to stop.
EDIT: Oh, and the chances of me causing any damage are remote.
I had no ring on, and I hit it with my fist on the edge of the boot as it skimmed past me.
To hit a BMW hard enough to dent it with my fist I imagine I would have broken my hand.
Still doesn't make it right, but I'm just saying.
