Puncture protected tyres

I have a set of these on one bike - http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/Meghna-26...-Deals-/301535584436?var=&hash=item4634ebe0b4 and the amount of thorns I've pulled out of them over the course of 2,500 miles would suggest they do a pretty decent job of avoiding punctures for not much money.

They're about the same price as standard tyres, I might give them a go.

I use Bontrager AW1Hard-case or Hard Case Lite tyres, I used to use the now discontinued Bontrager Race Lite Hardcase tyres, they don't stop the punctures completely but reduce them considerable.

The trouble is getting them in an ISO 590 size.

Just don't let an anti-puncture come into contact with a puncture else reality-ending contradictions will ensue!

you could just put a tyre liner in to add a layer of puncture proofing to your existing tyres.

I didn't realise the Bontrager Race Lite Hardcase had been discontinued. I had a pair and they were excellent and (almost) incident free. About the same level of incident free-ness as the Durano+ I replaced them with. The fact that they've been discontinued will explain why I couldn't find any when I came to replace them!

don't get too carried away with the puncture protection "gimmick".all tyres puncture,just buy quality...michelin

Think of tires as "puncture resistant" at best. If there's such a thing as a "puncture proof" tire, it's not anything that most of us would want to ride on.

M+'s for me on various bikes, 8+ years now and many 1000's of miles, home and abroad, zero punctures. I haven't carried a repair kit (locally) in years.
