So,

After 550 miles on my Spesh (Almost exactly) I got my first puncture. What an experience, got the bugger after hitting a rather deep pot hole as i was turning a corner at the bottom of a little hill (about to go up).

I hit it fairly hard (15mph), which did a nasty job on my left knee (I don't know how, i think i was out of the saddle slightly) however I just carried on (Trying not to think about the pain in my Knee) but as i got to the top of the hill started to hear a repetitive banging.

Got off and changed it, 3 people cycling past all offered help with one guy even getting off and coming over to check. After (Finally, i have a nano pump) getting it to a reasonable pressure for my weight I got off again.

As i started riding i started to feel a "bumping" at first i though it was just the road and low pressure. After i finally got home (Painfully with the Knee) i checked the wheel over. It looks like the tyre has a nasty buldge and there is some slight damage to the rim.

Needless to say im a bit peeved, but having 3 people offer to help is a rather humbling experience, at least it wasn't raining!

Question though, when a mate did his wheel on a pot hole, the council coughed up and paid for the repair. Do you reckon i could do the same for this?

Whats your worse puncture?

You could certainly contact the council. It may depend on whether it was a 'known'/reported pothole, but if its damaged your wheel I would give it a go. I would get some pics as well if possible.
