There wasn't just reused footage of the pilot. Pike appeared at the trial in a wheelchair in a non speaking part. Don't know if it was the original actor.

Well, thanks. I had a work colleague accuse Dr Who (and scifi in general) of being 'childish' the other day. Mind you, his 1992 Porsche breaks down about twice a week on average so I don't think he's in a strong position there.
