Anyone tell this old man,why has unlived started to be used in our language, what is wrong with dead.

It might upset someone and they might feel offended??

I saw a programme on mediacl students and the like and it included how they are trained to tell people that someone has died

They HAVE to say the person has died - nice and gently and with sympathy
but using ANY other word can give hope and some people will look for the slightest glimmer of it not being true
dead is final
passed away or passed on can - for someone whose brain just does not want to accept it - can be twisted into something else
Unlived (or unalived) is dumb enough to do the same

It's to do with social media algorithyms. Creators were finding that using the word "dead" or "died" was getting them blocked or de-monetised. I do understand why, because there are a lot of nasty vids out there showing people dying in facory accidents etc that aren't really very nice. So it's not so much of an Americanism for the sake of it, just inventing less harsh words to skirt around unneccessary censorship

Same as "passed". What did they pass?

They are dead, they have shuffled off of this mortal coil, they have gone to meet their maker...

No they're not, they're resting!
