If abstinence is the only effective form of birth control approved by the Catholic church then how did a virgin get pregnant?

Several parts to the answer.
1. She wasnt catholic.
2. I'm not certain but reasonably sure
that Catholicism didn't start till much
later.
NB
I'm not sure i would have been as understanding as Joseph if my wife had told me she was pregnant BUT it's not yours, it was divinely implanted

So abstinence only works as a method of birth control for Catholics? OK then.

Was there anything in that post which could possibly be construed to suggest that as a possibility?

1. She wasnt catholic.

Why does that suggest what you claimed?

That was in response to YOUR question
"If abstinence is the only effective form of birth control approved by the Catholic church then how did a virgin get pregnant?"

He was pointing out that your question was irrelevant because she wasn't Catholic, not saying anything at all about whether that form of birth control is valid for any other people than Catholics.

It is relevant and if you can't already see why then there is no point trying to explain it to you.

In other word you can't explain it.

And you still don't have the slightest explanation of why you thought his statement said anythinfg at all about oter religions and their contraception rules.

I read that people must drink x litres of water per day to remain hydrated and one way to check that you are hydrated is check the colour of your urine.

But then I wonder about our ancestors from thousands of years ago and perhaps they did not have water sources available to them like we do now. So does that mean the ancestors used to wonder around dehydrated, or that we are going about our daily lives over-hydrated?

No, you're just too stupid to understand the existing explanation. There's no point trying to do it again.

That imo is very rude and not necessary. I am the same as Alex in that i just cannot understand what point you are making. You were obviously having a dig at what I originally said and I (and Alex) are asking why. Surely you can answer that politely ?
