They seem to blast the aircon in winter but switch it off in the summer. I think the drivers are sadistic.

In one place our office had terrible heating and air con which were often in a battle to see which was stronger. We'd have to plead to be given the key to open the windows. We complained a lot and someone even submitted a proposal in official suggestion scheme "not have the aircon and heating on at the same time" -this was a serious attempt to get some action taken rather than sarcasm. Without any self awareness the suggestion was rejected for being "obvious" ... and yet nothing was done

Avoid Miller and Carter Steakhouse then.

For some baffling reason they serve a chunk of lettuce as a "palate cleanser" to help you enjoy your steak more. They claim this is traditional in the US - it isn't.
You mis - understand, I do actually quite like salad and so on, but I just wouldn't look at the weather and think

"You know what this needs? A bloody good salad!"

Yep I eat Salad all year round, the one thing I can't stand is 'Iceberg' lettuce but luckily a local shop sells 'flat-leaf' (Cos?) lettuce grown by a company/nursery called Forshaws in the Lancashire 'Salad triangle', This time of year is actually the worst for growing Lettuce as it is too hot and the plants are prone to 'bolt'.
Other acceptable Lettuce are Little Gem, Sweet Gem and Romano, served thinly shredded with Red Onion, Cucumber, Radishes. and maybe Rocket and I'm also partial to Watercress but that is rarely found in local shops as once picked it doesn't keep for much more than 48 hours.

This is possibly a really daft question and as I am never going to have an all electric car the answers I may receive are neither here nor there……. But here goes.

My understanding of an EV is that because the wheels are driven by an electric motor there is no gearbox as such.
If that is correct, is it feasible for the vehicle to travel just as fast in reverse as forwards ?

Are you planning on dying before there is no other choice? Or are you not intending having any cars, electric or otherwise?

Correct.

In theory, yes. In practice, I believe they limit that for sfety reasons.
