how fast do you think a firework explodes? 1 second to fan out that far? happens pretty quickly doesn't it?

(shooting settings would have been High Speed continuos and AI servo, so as the rocket gets close to what I think is its point of "bang" I would take a burst of 5 images in that second)
I like the idea of a fluid head tripod.... I would imagine that makes tracking a fast moving object on a random trajectory even harder though? I'd have thought being well braced with camera to eye and moving the upper body is easier.
I used to use a monopod for sports but even that is a pain in the rear so I gave up.
Maybe when I get old and shaky I will think differently
