If you go down the chemical route, then still be aware that you have to get your head round the concept of not wanting to smoke or come the end of the course you risk relapsing.

Thought I'd come onto this thread 'cus I heared something 'howling' funny over the weekend.

I went to visit a cousin who lives in a village on the Shropshire / Welsh border near Bucknell.

To the north of the village is Bucknell and Bedstone Hills. The road has a single chevron, but the pathway to the top doesn't although it is steeper, much steeper.

My cousin's husband has a MTB. He's in his sixties but still pretty fit.

I asked him if he's ridden to the top without stopping....

"No" he replied, "I always have to stop half way up for a cigarette".

apart from the health stuff, I just worked out that if I had smoked from age 18 to now (47) it would have been around £36k spent (based on £2.12 in 1980 and increasing by 3% pa... that is a lot

Yes indeed. I made the point about a financial incentive being powerful too. Since I quit, 12 years ago, I have not spent about £18k on cigarettes. However, lack of money doesn't discourage some addictions, there is still an over-riding need for desire to quit. Best of luck to the OP.
