I think iits a fine line between leave or repaint.
I have a Chessini frame that had a flamboyant early ninties paint finish, I thought it looked OK, but if you looked closely it had just a few too many nicks and scratches, but I am not a purist and had no problem with a refinish, of course somebody else might have found the old paint quite acceptable.

I’m leaning towards repainting it , but it will be awhile before I get to it.

I decided to repaint this bike. I cut off the ugly welded on cable guides and smoothed them as most of them were broken.
