When it was raining heavily at the end of last week, I just got out & got on with it
Friday, I was on an early-turn (06:00-15;00) & there was sheet lightening to the south, over Barnsley
As I left the house at 04:40, it was so heavy that it almost hurt the legs & face - yes!, I'd chosen to run there, & 'XC'!!

Or, as Terry Pratchett phrased it, in one of his books, it was
'raining so hard that it was queuing up to hit the ground'
Going through the woods was a even more fun than normal, as there was no point in even trying to skirt puddles/muddy patches (river bank was a bit slippery though!), nothing that I'm not used to, with the fell-racing.
Worst part..... everything was still sodden, when I put it back on to run home, but it was still raining quite heavily, so it only mattered inside the Hospital itself
Threw it down again on Saturday afternoon, for my late-turn (14:00-22:00), so I got very wet on the bike
Again, sodden clothing at 22;00
(no drying facilities, just coat-hangers)
Granted, yes, I could have gone in the car either (or both days), maybe it's a bit of masochism coming through (like we all suffer from at times??)
