YES YES YES YES YES YES YESSSSSSSSSSSSSSSS!!

I'll have a bloody good laugh at them over potentially a minimum of 3 years!!
Or 3 weeks, I wouldn't put it past Doncaster to engineer what he alone feels is the solution.

The contempt Rangers have shown to those they believe to be their inferiors is staggering. When they attended the SPL meeting to present their case for staying in the top tier they presented each club with a thick dossier. The one they gave to the Celtic chairman was a neatly ring bound edition, those presented to the other clubs were loose pages stapled together.

That went down like a lead balloon.

Scottish football has been in slow decline for years. With two major outfits dominating the whole show, and with so many ( a majority? ) foreign players in those clubs, the grass roots and smaller clubs have been marginalised and left with crumbs from a rich man's table. This might change things.

In the longer run this could turn out to be just what Scottish football needs.

Edit: I'd better finish what I began.

English football is no better, it's just written on a larger slate.

A two division premier league. Errr.....am I missing something? Premier: preceding all others
Suppose it is football thought so doesn't have to make sense.

PS. Does 'Scottish football' and 'premier' ever make any sense with that definition? :boxing:

I would love to see the faces of the Rangers supporters when they have to drive past their old favourite football stadium Pittordrie on their way up to Peterhead twice a year.

Btw their first match is against Stenhousemuir btw. On a run down stadium in the middle of nowhere. Some may cry blood upon arrival.

THe saddest thing about this is the fact that lessons are not being learned.

Portsmouth FC went through this years ago, and everyone talked about it as being a lesson to be learned by other clubs, and predicted that they were not alone... unless clubs curbed expenses and became realistic about finaces then others would follow the same route

Lets hope that where the Portsmouth crisis failed to have any real impact, that this time there IS a wake up call to football clubs, especially when you look at the debts of clubs....

Liverpool - £110 million debts
Rangers - £145 million debts
Bolton Wanderers - £267 million debts
Arsenal - £384 million debts
Manchester United - £569 million debts

How long before the bubble bursts on the fantasy economics of these clubs?

.......and they cannae beat ALLOA, at Ibrox.

The sooner this once proud club gets put out of its misery, the better. The vast majority of the Scottish population has welcomed the loss of Old Firm clashes over the last 3 seasons. It's not just the immediate vicinity of Ibrox/Parkhead that suffers the fall-out from these matches .
