I've just bought a Ransom 20 (carbon) and I've got it really dirty first time out, has anyone made (or bought) a mudguard to protect the equaliser shock? Its seems an expensive bit of kit to leave it to all the sh1t around at the moment.

Can you not just stick a 'shock boot' on and give the guard a miss?

The shock is too bloody big, its a 2 chamber pull sort of thing. I've looked at cutting down a front mudguard but to be honest I've just got the Gary Fisher HT out for the night ride tomorrow night and leaving the Ransom for the dry.

shock boots are a bad idea all the do is hold mud and water you would probably be better with a crud catcher that should keep the bulk of the mud off the just rinse it off when you get home and lube it a bit and it will be fine
hope that helps cheers mike
