Huh!

The heap I got rid of last February wasn't. Without a doubt the worst car I've ever had the misfortune to own, and that's from someone who has had two Morris Marinas.

Morris Marinas were total rust buckets, but during one of my 40 plus jobs working life, I worked at a dodgy car dealership, delivering and picking up cars. I drove a was it a 2 or 2.2 litre Marina one day and was 'blown away' with the car's acceleration and handling!😎

If you like Polish-built Fiats, maybe you could aim for a larger, classic, more upmarket model.

I don't think they did a convertible, but give me half an hour with an angle grinder and I'm sure that could be arranged.

When I worked for a London Borough back in the dim and distant, I was stationary at a set of lights and one of those ran into the back of me. The steel half bumper on the back of the Marina van suffered a slight scratch, but the Polski had to be seen to be believed. The front looked like a lorry had hit it, and while we were exchanging details one of the headlights fell off and the radiator blew. The driver got annoyed when I started laughing.

I was driving my MKI VW Caddy (basically a MKI Golf pickup) and had stopped to make a right turn as there was incoming traffic. I got rear ended by a MKIV Escort . The Escort was completely destroyed with the wings pushed back into the doors etc. My VW had a slightly bent bumper and a cracked number plate.

A 7.5 tonne Iveco rear ended my step mums Volvo 940.

The Volvo needed some repairs, but made it back onto the road.

The Iveco was written off.

That is because most of bodywork had rusted away, and it only weighed 200kg

Thr Marina was a hateful thing. Early versions even used Morris Minor derived front suspension FFS.

A typical BL insult to the buying public, and a prime example of management ineptitude.

The Italians can mess the electrics up between Bosch components, believe you me. I had an Alfa 147 Selespeed and it would go wonky on a regular basis. All the components were Bosch !

Please don't suggest @Accy cyclist buys an Alfa they are a couple of grades worse the Fiat
