Re-inserting a link in a chain

I bought a new chain for my Giant Roam 0. I shortened the chain but mistakenly removed one link than was required. Is it possible to replace the link or do I have to buy another new chain?

How many sprockets on your gears?

With 9spd you can relink using a tool on some styles.
For higher you need to use a fresh chain connector style link.

I would use a connector link on any modern chain.

Always used to rejoin chains that way from single to 9 speed. Also have done on a 10 speed and it lasted for quite a while, then broke. So OK to get yourself home, but a proper connector to be safe.

One quick link will not solve the problem because you will need to remove half a link to make the ends fit. You will need to join 2 half links fom the shortened length back into the chain at the point where the current quick link is - using a 2nd quick link.
