A few weeks ago I had a close pass by a asda hgv, I reported this to asda but with the driver being from an agency they could do nothing.
Bullshit they can't. Does the delivery agency own Asda? No. Asda is owned by one of the wealthiest retailers in the world - they have clout. It just would probably be too much effort for the person you spoke to do actually work out what agency it is and too draining for them to have a go at them for it. Write letters to senior Asda management.
So last night I reported this to the police.
After half hour conversation the officer said its not right but there is nothing the police could do as the CPS would disregard it and say its a wast of resources.
Sad this seems to have become true recently. Ask them to at least keep record of this incident on file so if someone else reports them they'll know they have form. Easier for CPS to keep their conviction rates up if they charge a regularly bad driver - although I suspect this incident is more a case of the belief that cycle lanes create an invisible inpenetrable barrier between cyclist and motorist.
