Good to pickle one's homegrown beetroot too.

One of my favourite sandwiches is a good strong cheddar topped with pickled beetroot on thick bread.. YUM!

I thought I was the only one! I get Abel and Cole deliveries and got some beetroot in my box last year. Cooked and pickled it myself.

I am currently munching on a sandwich for lunch. It is homemade bread, good strong cheddar, homegrown and home-pickled beetroot.

Soup sausages (Mettwurst pref. from Luxembourg) thrown in a pot with fresh vegetables and split peas. Or substitute a bacon joint for the Mettwurst.
