Well, strictly speaking, nice isn't really a very appropriate adjective to use in this context.

Curling (as in the Olympic sport on tv every bl**dy day).
The whole ice area is a rink but the oblong area the game is played on is called the patch.
The ice is not smooth. Water droplets are poured over it and freeze into beads.......this helps the stone to glide along it.
The "brush" they use has a variety of head types eg a rough material.
When the team runs ahead of the stone while "brushing" the ice they do this so the friction melts the beads and gives the stone a liiquid/lubricant to help it glide.
When they push the stone you can see they deliberately spin in......this is so they can get the stone to travel in an arc in the chosen direction.

It would be really interesting to find if any human could construct what the sport actually looks like just from that text!
(I'd be even more impressed if an AI could do it!
