The entire population of the world would fit into Loch Ness fourteen times over.

Wheat, rice, corn, oats, barley, and bamboo are all technically grass.
Grass covers roughly 20% of Earth's vegetative land surface and produces the grain that feed most of humanity.

So when you eat bread or rice, you're eating someone's lawn.

Grass grows from the base of the plant, not from the tips like most plants. That's why cutting the grass doesn't kill it.

As you say, much depends on how "the bottom" is defined. The 1st report i read clearly stated its never been done but after @kynikos said what he did i checked 2 other reports that said it has been done.
My deepest dive was 44 metres on a single 12L tank with normal air.
I imagine that with twin Nitrox and perhaps a 3rd suspend tank it is feasible (but not for me  ).

You'd really need trimix (ie helium, nitrogen and oxygen) at those depths. The oxygen % of normal air would make it toxic, and nitrox (which has higher oxygen) would be even worse. You'd want to reduce the oxygen to around 15% to be safe at 80m depth with perhaps 50% helium to avoid "nitrogen narcosis". Definitely want a couple of deco tanks with something like 50% and 100% oxygen for breathing in the shallows on your way up.

Deepest I've done is 60m on a course, but understand the theory up to a point
