Rear and front mechs damaged?

I was involved in an RTC today. The bike (and I) fell on the drive side. Afterwards the rear wheel wouldn't spin because the chain had come off the cassette and chainring. Despite repeated attempts to put the chain back in place, no luck.

I'm hoping it's just the front and rear hangers that are bent (or are they designed to snap off sacrificially?). Some pictures below. The position of the rear mech in particular looks weird.

Anyway it's off to bike shop for a repair quote soon.

Good news is all is relatively easy to fix but as for cost I wouldn't have a clue. I've not used a lbs for repairs for donkeys years. Was it the drivers fault? Will this be an insurance claim? The bike shop will give it a good overall check to make sure nothing gets missed but you could be looking at a hanger, rear mech, chain, cable, cassette and even a front mech if it's damaged. Or it may be none of the above, depending on what approach the lbs takes. Hangers can be manipulated up to a point, the rear mech might actually still work ok on a doctored hanger but you will need a new chain and that usually goes hand in glove with a new cassette.

Yes, your hangers are almost certainly bent. That's their job to bend or snap to save the frame and mech. The rear mech position looks off because of it. Don't keep forcing the chain; you'll make it worse. The shop will straighten or replace the hangers first, then check the mechs themselves. Good call taking it in.
