Rear brake by bottom bracket question

I can't seem to find the Technical section on here anymore so I'll put my question here.

Looking to build my n+1 from scratch when I get back from my holidays and I'm just doing a bit of homework first before I make any purchases. I'm looking at a Felt AR frame which seem to have the rear brake underneath by the BB area rather than the usual place. My question is.....are these brakes a different design to the normal ones so they fit where they do ?
If so what are they described as and where can I get them?

As far as i know its a normal caliper, just mounted someplace different.

Always interested to see how water and muck effect this location, was looking at a trek a while back with the same deaign

They are (the new) direct mount brakes.
