Can’t get much cheaper than this: https://www.decathlon.co.uk/vioo-100-led-rear-bike-light-yellow-id_8327967.html
They very bright too. You could even use two.

Take your pick...

I was hoping they'd still have some of the ones I bought a couple of years ago.

A Solas USB rear.

If anything it's too bright, and they had them on offer for £14.99 at PlanetX, but they've stopped selling them and elsewhere, they're about £28.

Very good light though. And the plastics seem like they won't go brittle. I had another, cheaper make and the clip snapped and I lost the light.

Does the tern have a rear rack with holes for a reflector? The Range currently have bolt-on rear battery lights, so that shouldn't fall off.

No I don't have a rack. Ideally I would like one I leave permanently on the bike - I ride on lit roads for about 2x10 mins - so it doesn't need to be a retina burner. if not I Am not adverse to another strap on .

As a slight aside - anyone know what became of this light ? - no stock anywhere

I use a knog blinder rear light on my Tern link. It does stop the seat post fully going down, but it's a matter of seconds to remove it if that's a problem.

It's a really great rear light, easily plugged into any usb port to charge. I've even charged it from my computer at work. It's survived 18 months of commuting in all weathers.

I recently bought one of these from my local bike shop.

Neat and well-made, choice of mounts in the box.

Switchable with gloves on.

And the usb lead has yellow plugs so I'm marginally less likely to mislay it.
