Last time I tried to order something from Westbrook it was out of stock even though the website clearly said othewise - they were very apologetic and helpful however. But yes a grand is good for the CAAD10
That's a shame. These bikes aside there are 2012 model bargains to be had at the moment with the 2013 bikes filtering through. Not in a position to buy yet unfortunately. Gonna be another month or two.

I have Tiagra on one bike and Apex on another - I like them both equally. I am sure Ultegra is lovely but new parts are more costly to replace. SRAM rival meant to be good too - 105 equivalent...e.g. http://www.planet-x-bikes.co.uk/i/q/FBPXPRORIV12/planet_x_pro_carbon_rival_road_bike_2012 for another option
I recommend that you buy my old Raleigh Mustang MTB for a thousand pounds.Ok, I know It's a common question, but in ready to upgrade my trusty Carrera.
I've got around a grand, and am looking for the following:
- Suitable for racing
- Minimum Shimano 105 or equivalent
- Less than 10KG, but preferably less than 9
And that's it really. I'm leaning towards a Ribble or a Boardman at present, but there's probably some gems I've not considered. Not a big fan of the Defy's aesthetics, so have all but ruled out.
Let's have it!

I am thinking very seriously about buying a Canyon for my n+1. The spec really impresses me - there is virtually nothing you would want to change - unlike most other brands around this price. Complete one-brand/model groupsets. Wheels are good, even saddle may be. Have no experience of the tyres, but they are not some cheap brand as often fitted. On the Ultimate ALs GP4000s come as standard on Ksyrium Elites.
Are there any distinguishing features between Tiagra and Apex?
