Time for a new one. Size to be 12"/30cm-ish.
I am a single guy so it won't get hammered.
Must have good non stick properties.
I dont want metal handle so rubber/soft plastic please.
Google search comes up with Tefal but even that has a few really negative reviews.
Any suggestions ?

Very similar, Which? also recommends, ludicrously cheap:

I took a different route bitd and went with Le Creuset at silly money - but they have honoured their lifetime guarantee 3x so far

That 2nd one looks good. Excellent reviews and as you say, silly money.
Thank you.

Here is a long thread on frying pans ^_^
By the way, @Dave7, don't you have another thread on the same topic already running?

Anyone got one with a red indicator that tells you when it's 'ready to cook'? Mine turns red in the washing up bowl, which must be at about salmonella degrees.

We've got one very similar to the second link (probably the same one). it is very good. but even the best ones can fail if not treated correctly. I've had probably 10 pans in my lifetime, and lived with people who all insist on either scrubbing them or putting them in the dishwasher. My current ongoing argument is that my partner puts it in the dishwasher because it says "dishwasher safe" on it. This is slowly but surely ruining it. It only needs a hot wipe with oil and kitchen paper, before and after cooking if necessary.

I liken them to oil changes on cars - you can have the most expensive oil in the world but if you don't change it at the required intervals it will still degrade and cause problems

Many moons ago a friend who has to have the best of everything spent a small fortune on a 'professional' non stick frying pan, and the first time he accidentally left it on the heat for far too long, the Teflon all bubbled and the pan was fecked. I'm a muppet and have done the same thing countless times with my Tefal frying pants [edit; PANS!] and the Teflon has never been affected.

I bought my current one because I overheated the previous one, and the non stick coating was coming off and turning the bristles of the Bridget brush black in the washing up bowl.
