Thick as a Brick.
Ian Anderson reacted angrily to critics who labelled Aqualung as a concept album. He opined "if they want a concept album then that's what I'll give them", and he wrote Thick as a Brick as a tongue in cheek jibe at music critics.
Unfortunately, despite his efforts Anderson had actually created a masterpiece concept album and the joke went way over the heads if the critics, who lauded it as a concept album and completely missed the poi t.
Anderson was then a very angry chap and his next album featured a 40 minute suite of songs, culminating in a song describing how critics were all shut in the auditorium and blown up. Anderson calmed down at the last minute and the project was binned, but was eventual,y released 15 years later as the Chateau D'Isaster tapes. And very good they were too.
Anyway, yeah, Thick as a Brick.
