i use these No gloves are waterproof as the water runs down your arm into the glove. http://www.chainreactioncycles.com/..._dc|pcrid|294922111664|pkw||pmt||prd|504621UK
I'll tell you a secret....put your waterproof jacket cuff over the glove cuff.

I go through this every year. ^_^

I ride all year round and my commute is 18km each way. I start at 4.30am. I have tried all sorts of gloves. Cheap and expensive. Then I found military overgloves. They are not pretty but they work. I wear glove liners and woolen gloves underneath them and my hands stay warm and dry. I use them both on my motorbike and bike. It is the cheapest and most effective way I have found of keeping my hands warm in winter. When it goes below -10, I take the car. This is the answer to cold hands...Simple and cheap.

This looks like a cheaper version of my solution https://www.cotswoldoutdoor.com/p/extremities-tuff-bags-mitt-A3214228.html?colour=124. I’ve used a pair of something like this for well over 10 years when needed. A pair of thin, thermal liner gloves, two pairs of mittens and then these bags over the top have kept my hands warm in some pretty nasty weather.
With that lot on I don’t get much fine control for a gps etc, but it’s worth it. I agree with another post about getting the outer gloves inside your sleeves, but with the above lot on the second hand is a bit of a problem.
Goretex is also good for keeping out cold wind without too much sweating, even if not raining.

Is there any waterproof gloves you can recommend for rides down to just below freezing? Not really sure what to look for in general. Budget about 50ish.

Yes. I highly recommend the Gore winter gloves. They have separate liners which make taking them on and off easier and offer flexibility when you warm up.

I'll tell you a secret....put your waterproof jacket cuff over the glove cuff.

Absolutely.

I have no problems changing on mine, or the Di2, or the brompton.

I agree that ski gloves sort all the problems. Of course they have to be flexible enough and I was skeptical as well at first, but they do work. Somethimes they are a bit expensive. I have been looking around, mostly sportsdirect, decathlon and eventually got mine on ridestore.com/uk.

I have recently acquired some Sealskin Highland gloves which say they are windproof & waterproof. I have ridden for up to 45 mins in heavy rain and had dry, warm hands which haven't got too sweaty. They were reduced to £27 at GoOutdoors

They have insulation which makes me think that they'll be fine at around freezing temperature too.
