Really? So adding a disc and the disc mount to the hub decrease the rolling mass?

Yes, because they're not rolling. They're simply turning in one position.

Rim brakes needs heavier rims to account for the braking surface. This is a rolling part of the wheel so increases resistance.

Mr Summerdays has yet to actually do anything more than browse the internet and wander into Evans one Saturday when he was in town with the children. However since at his work they are opening the Bike to Work Scheme at the beginning of July he ought to get a move on and start looking if he is going to buy through it - he's not sure if its worth the risk - its being run by Cyclescheme and apparently the bikes will be valued at the end.

Best to get him to convince his company to drop Cyclescheme, it benefits no one other than the company (from what I've figured out, it makes it more complicated and costs more).

Valuation is standard - although they (or your company) cannot suggest that they will sell it to you at the end otherwise it's hire-purchase and contravenes the scheme/tax break.
