I didn't say he hadn't flown out, but was offering possible reasons for his flying out, reasons which would go some way to suggesting he may not fit the scurrilous descriptions applied to him by people on this thread who have jumped on the persecution bandwagon.
I've not watched the clip (work and on mobile) do his feet stop pedlling or even go down to the ground to try and stop himself in this theoretical brake problem?

Or he displays unfeasibly good balance to be so top heavy and unconscious and (by the sounds not significantly lose speed) and not fall off sideways unaided.

Cycling in the sun

I know that junction, not far away from where my eldest lives and in prime student-land. It's a right turn only though bikes seem to be encouraged up onto the pavement near the junction if they want to turn left. If you tried to turn left from the road it would be an extremely tight turn due to the shape of the kerb there, which he could have been concentrating on rather than looking right maybe.

I watched this a few times last night. To me it looks like he is trying a left hook around the corner having glanced to the right and not noticing the Volvo as it was obscured by the van.

I would agree the guy is a bit of a tool but I don't wish bad on anyone, however it happened . Everyone makes mistakes/takes a risk and some pay a heavy price.
