I feel it's a bit rich reporting the driver & then riding down the outside of the traffic on the chevrons & putting yourself in more danger then he ever did, why did you not stay behind the Corsa?

If you point out what was dangerous, Iwill answer. As per highway code 138 i can enter the chevrons. I see no danger unless i missed something in that clip which made entering the chevrons dangerous.
The code does say when necessary. i would argue it was. It was safer than filtering down the inside also there is no right of right turning traffic where on the inside there is further down.
However you clearly know better!
Also the code uses "necessary" in a very vague way which one could argue "necessary" is any reason.
However if it was solid white line chevrons i wouldn't be able to enter them but that's not the case.
Awaiting reply

You were clearly enraged & trying to prove a point to the Taxi by going down the outside, you still haven't answered the question why you felt it necessary. This is clearly only an incident in your minds eye

The fact is i always filter right down this road, i have 3 or so videos of me doing it not just this one. It gives me more space and i dont have a risk of being crushed or blocked into the Kerb. The chevrons are a good lane+ size so lots of room. It also eliminates the risk of turning traffic as no one can turn right where as they can turn left. I filter as there is traffic and when its backed up here its at least 15mins traffic, where as if i filter its only 5mins. There is justification and also safety points.
I do stay left but it was so i can give my self a chance to assess the traffic. The Corsa did not help as it boxed me in. So took me a bit of time to assess while keeping an eye on the Corsa. I then got myself out of the situation by braking as was sure the traffic would slow of which it did and then it did come to a stop. I did what any road user with the ability to filter would have done in traffic. That would be to filter. It was safe to enter the chevrons. You stated that it was not! So what was the danger?
You are clearly crabbing at straws which are not there.
check!

Rule 138 applies to three lane dual carriageways so would not be relevant as the video appears to show you in a two lane carriageway, the hatched area should not be considered to be a traffic lane.
Rule 130 is surely the relevant rule in this case?
yes 130, wrong number thanks
i knew it was 13*

OK but Rule 130 doesn't say you can use the hatched area as a normal traffic lane!
i didn't though, i entered it as it was necessary to filter, at no point did it change to a lane on its own and neither have i stated otherwise.

There was nothing wrong with the filtering, in my opinion. I'd have done the same.

New here, quite active on Bikeradar...same person. But was actually looking to get enough post to reply to a classified post. but this one caught me eyes.

2 things...1) does anyone know what video cam it is that shot the footage? I want one and been unsure about low light performances so have been put off from getting one. But the footage looks nice and clear and good contrast. I cycle 20miles a day through some of the busiest roads in London, I am no angle myself, but some of the driving standards are simply GASH

2) Someone said hesitant cyclist...I think it's one thing being aware and knowing what could happen and anther being hesitant...I have seen hesitant cyclists, which I think can cause more harm to themselves and other cyclists, but from the video it seems the guy anticipated the bad driving and slowed and manoeuvred accordingly. I would have done the same thing under the circumstances tho, I would have hogged the outter land of the round about as opposed to the inner lane as tho you are in a car, that way it will prevent this sort of things happening and definitely signalling with my hands that I want to either go around the roundabout or take an exit. I personally hate large roundabouts with no traffic light controls...as a cyclist you are just a piece of bait waiting for some idiot to run you over.

sorry 3rd thing, who is reviewing this sort of footage and reporting them to the police?

Camera is a contour roam. The low light is ok but not great, if anything happens read the plate out in the dark just in case you don't get it on camera. There are better cameras out there which have better low light sensitivey,l ike the go pros or higher classed contour camera. For £119 atm the roam is good. The roam two came out not to long ago but im unsure of its low light ability..
