Summer is on its way through.
As far as I can remember, we have a summer every year.
Not everywhere! Last year we waited .... and waited ..... it never arrived
. The previous summer was a bit of a non-event as well.
The modern weather pattern for the north west of these isles appears to be:
January/February - constant storms with a rare cold, dry snap for a few days.
March/April - a cold and sunny week or two, but wet and breezy for the most part.
May/June/July/August - milder but wet, with the odd day or two of traditional warm sunny weather.
September/October - talk of an Indian summer which never materialises. More rain with perhaps a short sunny period.
November/December - surprisingly mild, but the price to pay is another period of constant Atlantic low pressure systems bringing wind and rain.
