NO! The left-hand pedal has a left-hand thread! You were probably thinking of B/B cups.

As regards removing pedals - my experience is, the longer you leave it, the harder it gets! After several years: you've got a problem! Grease the threads (not lithium grease) before re-installing, may make it easier next time! If the pedal is well and truly stuck, and it's an old pedal which you were going to scrap anyway, remove the crank from the B/B, dismantle the entire pedal down to the spindle, clamp the spindle in the vice, wear thick gloves and tug on the crank! Remember which way it goes! Sometimes this is the only way.
