Replace hub or buy new wheel?

I have a Genesis Croix de Fer with Alexrims XD Elite wheels but the rear hub bearing is shot because the previous owner didn't tighten the nuts enough. Is it easy to re-lace the spokes onto a new hub or should I just buy a new wheel? If so, any ideas for something sturdy enough to ride on bridleways etc.?

I have replaced hubs a couple of times, once a rear wheel I rebuilt for my brother overnight while camping in a tent! The second time was to replace a generic front hub on my road bike so I could have matching Tiagra Fr & Rr
It can be done but probably not worth it unless you really want to keep the rim, can do it yourself and the rim is in really good condition.

Just to follow up that I did it with success and the wheel is as good as new and almost true! Took about 3 hours in total

I used a stand from Rosebikes - quite a cheap one and a little bit flimsy but good enough to get the job done. Had to release the spoke tension a few times towards the end of the procedure and will true it a final time after riding it for a week
