Where do I start ...!

Blow it, let's be positive for once - TalkTalk finally answered my emails and sent me a new wireless router which has greatly improved my broadband service!

Off topic.

Oh, and I'm still answering all my work emails though whilst off.

Been 'on the road' around Europefor nearly 6 weeks solid.
Sitting here at Dusseldorf airport, should have been home last night, but got diverted, awaiting for materials to roll-up at customers plant which have been delayed until 3pm, we then have 12 hours of trials, I have a flight at 7am.
Work is frantic, was like this before Christmas, often 3 countries per week, everybody in the team is pretty much out and we even have some working Saturday. I've been recording my hours since christmas, it's scary and it's gruelling. It will improve, but we don't know quite when. I am mentoring some new people that are doing-well flying solo and in at the deep end.
having said all that, I basically like my job, but there's too much of a good thing at the moment.
My Cycling's suffering, I'm getting fatter on good food and wine, my wife's fantastic.

But there's more ... SAP and other systems.
Advance apologies for IT bods here but there aren't half some wnakers in the software development and implimentation business and the IT salesmen who sell this sh1t to corporations and tosser corporate buyers who fall for their sh1t.
We've had the misery that is ' called Sales Farce.com'
We have 'Online learning/training modules'
We have an online Personal development program
Stuff comes to us now with USA formatted dates - this could be the last straw.
Now we have SAP or 'how to make your business even slower and more complicated than it needs to be' .... We have a 3 DAY approval system and piles of templates to get a new recipe made. We usually turn stuff around in 3 hours! Slow death by IT that's what it is .... No wonder we don't have time to service the customer, they never get mentioned .... I bet we have more IT people than Food Scientists, no wonder I'm working so hard.

Thanks for listening ....
I liked the IT rant:smile: ... but what would most of us do all day if we didn't have IT stuff to fix?

Was off earlier in the week due to flu. Used the time off to change the jockey wheels on my rear derailleur.

The bolt on the upper pulley seized and despite mine and the LBS best efforts would not come out - shitty aluminium bolts. Had to buy a new derailleur for £40. Ouch. Also, as jockey wheels (£10) opened from packet, can't return. £50 Down.

Returned to work yesterday, but still not well enough to commute by bike so paid over £20 in two days for public transport.

So still feeling a little groggy, unable to cycle and £70 quid down.

Orrible isn't it...just getting over it myself...first ride today for 10 days, managed 23 miles but feeling a bit wobbly...all I've been able to do is mope around at home, spend time in bed and post on CC. Hope you recover soon
Thank you:biggrin:Hope your feeling better soon too...i think if I were to try 23 miles it would be the end of me, 23 feet is too far atm!!!!!!!

Have a cold that has hung around for past 10 days, gone onto my chest, and after normal blokey, "not going to docs" routine, was "made" to go by Mrs TB and work colleagues, and got rollocked by Asthma Nurse and Doc, as has become infection on my left lung. Was given some anti-biotics, told to up the old inhaler, and was laughed at when I asked would I'd be ok to go back to work next day. So for first I can remember, have had week off work.

Downside, is no training for Sprint Tri in May, so back to ground zero in next few days, after all that good work in January and early February :cursing:
