Sad news to hear. As Rich said, hold on to those good memories.

So sorry to hear that. Just keep remembering the goods times. My thoughts are with you.
Thanks. I've got a photo of my mum on top of my TV and I didn't realise at the time, but it was nearly 9 months after her death before I could bring myself to look at it again. Now, I sometimes pick it up and say things like "Hey mum - guess what your daft son did today!"

I get my silly sense of humour from her. (My dad's (English) side of the family were a bit serious, but my mum's side were Highlanders who loved a good laugh!)

Sorry to hear that Rolf, I was in exactly the same situation with my only brother just three weeks ago, although peaceful and loving , I found it very difficult watching him slip away. My thoughts are with you.

Thankyou all so much, your kind words are a real comfort to me. My thoughts go out to those of you who have also lost dear ones. I am in some kind of strange emotional headspace right now, some of me is sad for her loss, but the overwhelming emotion is that of quiet releif that she is free now of such a horrible illness. For the time being my focus is to get my dad through all this, they met at age 14 and spent more than 60 years together.

I will ride every ride in her honour.
