Great job roadrash. Reminds me of the bike my Mum had in the 70's for commuting and shopping, which I recall riding, with my sister on the saddle having a "backie", and our dog in the box my dad made, that sat over the back wheel. Happy days.

The Start of your love affair for bikes and cycling .... I had a chopper ..... bloody terrible for handling ... Deathtrap !

The start was my red tricycle, with a boot area behind the saddle. My dad would walk and I would ride. We went out for ages at a time. If I got tired my dad would pull me home using an old skipping rope that he took for such an outcome. We would put sandwiches in the trike boot bit.
Then I had a green girls bike. That was brilliant as I could go further. That took me my 11th Birthday and the Raleigh Twenty. That green bike had its seat and bars as high as they would go as I grew like a weed, apparently.

I saw a very nice turquoise Raleigh Solitaire (it's the same as a Twenty, just different decals) yesterday in Bristol. White wall tyres and everything.
