They had loads of all the cycling kit in store today, so I got a new saddle for the Triban, for 8 quid. I have the 'trekking' version on my MX comp. so I know how good they are. Oddly, this is advertised as a 'mountain bike' saddle. It's actually much more akin to a road saddle though:wacko:

I am one saddle short for my current fleet of bikes so I may take a punt on one of those.

I am going to build a singlespeed bike for short local rides and it will probably eventually end up on that. If I really like it, I will try to buy a second one before they sell out.

I am off to Lidl soon and was already planning to buy some of their mitts.

I got the bike stand and picked up the same saddle as you while I was there, I couldn't resist, the saddle was so inexpensive, but I don't really need another saddle.

As long as I breathe, I attack.
Im about to stick my old saddle back on my nice bike, got a fizik gobi and the last two times i rode it i have got some serious chaffing on the area between the nads and leg.

Dropped in Aldi at dinner time to check out there cheap windproof jackets. Seem pretty good value/quality for £12.

I bought a pair of mitts (gloves). My local Lidl didn't have the type of saddle that I was thinking of buying, but if the other two types were anything to go by then I think it would have been over-gelled and too squidgy for me anyway - I prefer firmer saddles.

I bought a lock. As always, you balance weight with effectiveness. Seems quite light, anyway!

That Lidl looks a little bit more upmarket than the ones in Leicester

I got the £24.99 workstand today. I'll fit it together tomorrow morning and give summat on one of the bikes a fettle just to be sure it's fine.
All reports say they are great for the price.

I've already got one on one of my hybrids. They really are very good.

Tested the Lidl £8 saddle on a 3 hour ride yesterday, not bad at all, quite impressed, firmer than I'd imagined, considering it's gel. I spent years riding on an old 80's style Turbo saddle, changed to a Charge Pan. My personal preference is the Charge Pan, but IMHO the Lidl saddle is very good for the price.

Update: After 5 hours on a ride, the Lidl saddle began to get uncomfy, so I'm back to using the Charge Pan.
