I pay yearly for a premium subscription for RWGPS and find that to be really good value for what I use it for.

How much do you pay?

I do use cycle.travel and find it fantastic for suggesting routes, far better than RWGPS, however, I find the mapping software terrible to use.

How much do you pay?

I get a discount of 20% because of a membership I have elsewhere and as a result I'm billed $64 every year for the Premium yearly plan. Currently that's 48 pounds or 55 Euros.

I've been really impressed with the routing algorithm it uses, I've asked it to generate a number of one way rides using predominantly gravel and singletrack and it's produced some cracking rides. Whenever I've found small issues with it's suggestions, or tweaks that I've wanted to make for personal preferences, I've struggled to make it's mapping tools work. So this is when I've downloaded the route, imported it into RWGPS and used, what I feel to be, their superior planning tools to tweak it.

To my mind there isn't the one planning tool to rule them all, they all seem to have their strengths as well as their quirks and foibles. I've just decided that RWGPS is the most suited to the majority of what I need, so that's where I've put my money.

Which plan do you have, and how much do you pay?

Premium yearly. $80 pa. At current rates that's about £60 or a fiver a month.

I use the route planner a lot. The ride history (and offline backup) obviously as that's the core of it. Bike maintenance log too. I use Collections quite a lot. I store walks and other activity types as well as cycling.

I'm also a regular user of their API as I have various bits and pieces that I've written, such as my own private version of Veloviewer squares and Eddington calculator. Not sure if the API key requires premium membership.

For that level of use I think the premium membership is reasonable but I am insanely wealthy and can afford £5 pcm. YM obviously MV.

We use the free version of RWGPS to plot all our club ride routes. It has its foibles but has improved (it used to regularly send you off down farm tracks even though you told it to stay on the road!). I do prefer Strava's route planner, but it was the case that you could only share routes with other premium members.
RWGPS now synchs automatically to devices (Garmins certainly) if rides are starred, no having to go through any extra steps now which is good.

I'm not interested in other features as use Strava plus Veloviewer. I track my gear on Strava and Veloviewer, and Veloviewer at a whooping £10 per year is one of the best extras around.

Interestingly, whilst riding from Auckland Park to the Locomotion Tuesday I encountered the usual blocked 'new house builds' pathway. Google maps then had a pop up 'report blockage', no doubt because other cyclists/walkers had also detoured.
